(Self Portrait 1901 of Pablo Picaso, “Yo Picasso”.)
In 1901 Pablo created a significant self-portrait with a sense of awareness and even cockiness that displayed pulsating colors and a confident gaze out into the audience. At age 19 Pablo was already productive and varied, creating works that would separate himself from the a majority of artists of his time. Pablo draws inspiration from Van Gogh, Toulouse-Lautrec and even Diego Velázquez to create a diversified portfolio.
Pablo Picasso was a Spanish painter, sculptor, printmaker, ceramicist, and stage designer who spent most of his adult life in France. As one of the greatest and most influential artists of the 20th century, he is widely known for co-founding the Cubist movement, the invention of constructed sculpture, the co-invention of collage, and for the wide variety of styles that he helped develop and explore.
